The Florence Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform at Francis Marion University in an FMU Department of Fine Arts guest recital, Sunday, April 10.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the McNair Science Building auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
The program will include selections from Smetana, Tchaikovsky, Vaughan Williams and the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
The orchestra is made up of students from Florence and the surrounding area in grades six through 12. The group rehearses on a weekly basis after school and performs three times a year. In February, the orchestra performed for over 1,400 fourth-grade students from Florence School District 1 at the Florence Civic Center.
FMU music professor Terry Roberts conducts the group.
