FMU to host annual Volunteer Fair, Sept. 14
FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University Office of Career Development will host its 15th-annual Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Smith University Center commons area.
Representatives from area volunteer organizations who are in need of volunteers will set up booths and recruit students to become active in the community. Members of the public who are interested in volunteering are also invited to attend.
More than 20 volunteer agencies will be on hand for the fair. Scheduled to participate are: 12th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office, Alston Wilkes Society, Berean Community Development Corp., Big Brothers – Big Sisters, Billie Hardee Home for Boys, Boys and Girls Club of the Pee Dee, Family Connection, Florence Area Humane Society, Florence Area Literacy Council, Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, Greater Florence Habitat For Humanity, Habitat For Humanity, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Lighthouse Ministries, North Vista Elementary School, MADD, Make-A-Wish, McLeod Children’s Hospital, McLeod Hospice, Palmetto Youth Academy, Pee Dee Coalition, United Way Of Florence, and Winyah Community (Hospice Care).
