FMU Theatre to present "Romeo and Juliet," Oct. 27-29

            FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University Theatre will present William Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet," Oct. 27-29.

            Performances begin at 8 p.m. in the Hyman Fine Arts Center’s theatre. Admission is free, but reservations are recommended. Call the box office at 843-661-1365, Monday through Friday, between 1 and 5 p.m., for seating availability.

            "Romeo and Juliet" is Shakespeare’s classic tragedy and love story. Two young people from long-feuding families meet by chance and fall in love. Unbeknownst to their families, they secretly marry. Because of street brawling, Romeo is banished from the kingdom. The lovers end up taking their lives rather than living without each other.
