The Executive Committee of the North East Strategic Alliance (NESA) will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 16) in the Stokes Administration Building Board Room at Francis Marion University to select a new executive director of NESA. At 5 p.m., the NESA Executive Committee, chaired by State Sen. Yancey McGill of Kingstree, will hold a news conference to announce its selection and introduce the new director to the public.
NESA was formed in 2000 to promote the joint development of the historic Pee Dee and Waccamaw regions of South Carolina. The alliance promotes public and private partnerships in coordinating, planning, and sharing resources from Chesterfield, Clarendon, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro and Williamsburg counties. The building of Interstate 73 has been once of NESA’s priorities.
