No. 28 Patriots Host No. 21 Braves for PBC Baseball Series
    FLORENCE, S.C. – For the fifth consecutive weekend, the Francis Marion University baseball team will play a nationally ranked opponent in a three-game Peach Belt Conference series.  FMU, ranked 28th itself this week, will play host to 21st-ranked UNC Pembroke for a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and a single game on Sunday at 2 p.m. on Cormell Field.

    The Patriots are 15-6-1 overall and in fifth place in the PBC with a 5-6-1 mark.  UNCP, winners of five straight, is 18-7 overall and in third place in the Peach Belt at 5-4.

    Francis Marion is 8-1-1 in its last 10 games, and the Patriots have won 19 of their last 20 games on Cormell Field.  All six of FMU’s losses this season have been to nationally ranked teams.

    Francis Marion leads the all-time series 44-26-1, including a 2-1 mark last season against the Braves in Pembroke, N.C.
