FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University women’s softball team will play host to its annual Patriot Invitational Tournament, Friday through Sunday (March 11-13) at the Freedom Florence Softball Complex.
The 34-team field includes three nationally ranked squads, headed by the 10th-ranked Patriots (19-5). Each team will play five contests.
Games will start at 4, 6, and 8 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m., 1, 3, 5, and 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. One-day admission passes are $5 for adults, $4 for youth (ages 6-16), and children under six are free. Three-day passes are available at $14 for adults and $11 for youth, and two-day passes are $9 for adults and $7 for youth.
On Friday, Francis Marion will play Valdosta State University (3-18) at 4 p.m. and Tusculum College (10-4) at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the Patriots will meet Catawba College at 3 p.m. and Fairmont State College at 5 p.m., while on Sunday, FMU will play Barton College at 10 a.m. and West Liberty State College at 2 p.m.
