FLORENCE, S.C. – After completing a 4-2 week, the Francis Marion University baseball team remained 15th in this week’s Collegiate Baseball Magazine NCAA Division II Top 30 poll, released on Monday (April 11). FMU is tied with Ashland University for the 15th position.
The Patriots are 28-13-1, and have won 17 of their last 24 contests. This is the seventh consecutive week the Patriots have appeared in the Top 30 poll.
FMU will play host to Barton College (18-26) on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The Patriots will then conclude their Peach Belt Conference slate with a three-game series at Lander University, beginning with a single game on Friday evening.
With a 15-11-1 conference mark, the Patriots are fourth in the tightly packed PBC standings, approximately two games out of first place. Eight of FMU’s 13 losses this season have been to nationally ranked opponents.
Six Peach Belt squads are listed in this week’s poll, including four in the Top 15. Central Missouri State University (34-3) was 4-0 last week and maintained its hold on the No. 1 spot.
