FMU remains 8th in Baseball Top 30 Poll
FLORENCE, S.C. – Despite a shake-up in the Top 10, Francis Marion University remained eighth for the fourth straight week according to the latest Collegiate Baseball Magazine NCAA Division II Top 30 poll, released this week.

The Patriots ended their regular-season schedule on April 24 with a six-game winning streak and a 34-14-1 mark.  Francis Marion will play its first game in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional, Thursday against 11th-ranked Kennesaw State University (35-20) in Jacksonville, Fla.

This is the Patriots’ fifth straight week in the national Top 10, the sixth week in the Top 10 this season, and the 12th consecutive week the Patriots have appeared in the Top 30 poll.  Seventh is the highest ranking FMU has ever attained.

Seven Peach Belt squads are listed in this week’s poll, including two in the Top 10.  Central Missouri State University (52-7) moved up three positions to reassume the top spot in this week’s poll, replacing Delta State University.
