FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University golf team has announced the field of competitors for its two home tournaments during the 2005-06 season.
The Patriot golf team is currently transitioning to become an NCAA Division I member, after competing in Division II for the past 14 seasons.
FMU will play host to the 21st-annual Raines Development Group Intercollegiate Tournament, Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19-20, at the Country Club of South Carolina, and will host the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tournament, Feb. 27-28, on Hilton Head Island.
The field for the September tournament consists of FMU, University of South Carolina (B squad), Campbell University, Charleston Southern University, Davidson College, Elon University, Gardner-Webb University, Jacksonville University, Kennesaw State University, Liberty University, Old Dominion University, Western Carolina University, College of William & Mary, Georgia College & State University, and two-time defending Division II national champion USC Aiken.
The Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate field will include Francis Marion, Davidson, East Carolina University, Eastern Michigan University, Furman University, University of Iowa, Iowa State University, Kansas State University, Marquette University, Miami University (Ohio), Northern Illinois University, USCA, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, University of Toledo, and Wofford College.
