FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University sophomore forward Jonathan Bartomioli has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference men’s soccer “Player of the Week” for the week ending Sept. 11.
Bartomioli, a native of Bartlett, Ill., tallied two goals and two assists in a pair of FMU’s victories last week. He scored the match-winning goal in a 1-0 road win at Barton College on Sept. 7 and then recorded one goal and two assists in last Saturday’s 4-1 win over Brevard College.
For the season, Bartomioli leads the young FMU squad in scoring with five goals and three assists, and is tied for the conference lead in total points.
The 4-2-0 Patriots will play host to Wingate University (3-3-0), Wednesday (Sept. 14) at 4 p.m. on the FMU Soccer Field. Admission is free.
Bartomioli is a former All-Conference performer at Bartlett High School, where his coach was former FMU All-American Josef Schroeder.
