FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University junior middle hitter Lezlie Logan has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 2, the second time in her career she has garnered the award.
The Cleburne, Texas, native averaged 4.27 kills, 0.67 digs, and 0.60 blocks per game last week, while compiling a .291 hitting percentage. She helped lead Francis Marion to three wins in four matches as the Patriots improved to 15-7 on the season, and 3-1 in the PBC.
Logan tallied a season-high 23 kills in a come-from-behind, five-game win over conference foe USC Upstate on Sept. 30, a match that was attended by her brother, a Marine recently returned from a tour in Iraq. She also recorded 17 kills and a .419 hitting percentage in a win over UNC Pembroke on Sept. 28. She has totaled double-figure kills in each of her last six matches.
For the season, Logan ranks second in the PBC in kills per game (3.74) and eighth in hitting percentage (.235). Earlier this season, Logan surpassed 1,000 kills for her career, and currently stands at 1,186.
Logan previously won the PBC weekly award for the week ending Sept. 12, 2004. She is a former All-District performer at Cleburne High School.
