FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University volleyball team, ranked eighth in the most recent NCAA Division II South Region poll, will play host to a rare doubleheader, Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon, while the Patriot men’s soccer team will be on the road.
The volleyball team will entertain Peach Belt Conference foe Augusta State University (4-17, 1-3) at 1 p.m. and then St. Andrews Presbyterian College (1-13) at 4 p.m. Admission to both matches is free.
The Patriots are 15-8 overall and 3-2 in the PBC.
The Patriot men’s soccer team (7-5-0, 0-2-0) will travel to Dahlonega, Ga., for the first-ever meeting with Peach Belt Conference newcomer North Georgia College & State University (5-4-2, 0-3-1), Saturday at 4 p.m.
The 3-4-0 FMU women’s soccer team was to have played on Saturday at Longwood University (2-8-0) in Farmville, Va., but that match has cancelled due to wet playing conditions and the threat of additional precipitation. The match will not be rescheduled.
