FMU Soccer Team Entertains UNCP, Wednesday

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University men’s soccer team will play host to local Peach Belt Conference rival UNC Pembroke, Wednesday (Oct. 26) at 4 p.m.

The Patriots, who are 7-9-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the PBC, will be looking to snap a four-match losing skid.   UNCP (10-3-3, 1-1-2) is the defending conference champion, and last year advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four.

FMU leads the all-time series with the Braves 21-12-3, but UNCP has won each of the past two meetings by one goal each.

FMU senior goalkeeper Jonathan Runion needs one save to equal the Patriot career record for saves (347) set by Rick Clark between 1990 and 1993. Runion already owns the team career marks for matches played in goal (68), matches started in goal (62), and minutes played in goal (6,066).

The Francis Marion volleyball team (21-10, 5-2) will play at UNCP (9-16, 2-5), Wednesday at 7 p.m.
