          A major announcement will be made at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, concerning redevelopment in downtown Florence. The news conference is scheduled in the Founders Room of the Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation Library, 509 South Dargan St.

           Through a multi-partnership agreement, several organizations will be involved in multi-million dollar announcement that will help transform downtown Florence into the cultural and economic center of the entire Pee Dee region. The announcement will involve unprecedented gifts to Francis Marion University and Florence Little Theatre. 
          Making the announcement will be: Dr. Frank B. Lee Sr., chairman of Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation; Frank Willis, mayor of Florence; Fred Carter, president of Francis Marion University; Patsy Stone, president of Florence Little Theatre; State Senator Hugh Leatherman; Rob Colones, president and CEO of McLeod Health; and K. G. (Rusty) Smith, chairman of Florence County Council.
