Shenandoah Shakespeare Express to present "Return to the Forbidden Planet," Feb. 11, at FMU

FLORENCE, S.C. – Shenandoah Shakespeare Express will present “Return to the Forbidden Planet,” a sci-fi musical based on “The Tempest,” Saturday, Feb. 11, at Francis Marion University.

The performance will begin at 8 p.m. in the McNair Science Building auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

Imagine that American Bandstand, Star Trek, and William Shakespeare were involved in a disastrous transporter malfunction, and the result at the other end was a combination of all three. That’s just part of the fun of Shakespeare’s long lost rock ’n’ roll masterpiece, “Return to the Forbidden Planet.” Rock ’n’ roll music, a sci-fi fantasy, and dialogue from the greatest plays ever written will keep the audience laughing and jamming profoundly through the cosmos.
