FMU selects 2006 homecoming king and queen

    FLORENCE, S.C. – Patrick T. Jones and Shera Epps were selected as Francis Marion University’s 2006 homecoming king and queen on Feb. 25.

    Jones, of Ladson, is a junior majoring in political science with a minor in psychology. He was sponsored by the Student Alumni Association. He is president of the University Programming Board, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the Greek Week Committee, and the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and is a resident assistant.

    Epps, of Kingstree, is a junior majoring in biology with a minor in psychology. She was sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., of which she is a member. She is also a member of the Dimensions of Diversity Dance Team and Ars Medica.

    During Spirit Week, Feb. 20-24, FMU’s Student Government Association held elections to select the 2006 homecoming king and queen. The king and queen are selected by the student body to represent the student body’s school spirit. The crowning ceremony was performed during halftime of the FMU men’s basketball game against Clayton State University.
