Online FMU alumni directory now available

FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University’s more than 15,000 alumni now have a new resource to stay in touch with their former classmates and professors.

FMU has partnered with Alumni Research Inc. to provide the university’s first alumni directory since 1998. The directory includes biographical, professional and personal information about FMU graduates.

The hardbound version of the directory has sold out, but FMU alums now have access to an online version for the first time. The directory can be found under the “Alumni and Friends” section of the FMU website, www.fmarion.edu.

This password-protected directory offers two types of subscriptions. Basic subscriptions are free, and allow access to features such as the ability for alumni to update their profiles online, an alumni newsletter, an alumni bulletin board, a chat room, and an intra-advertising component.

Premium subscriptions permit the subscriber the ability to view biographical information of fellow alumni through a “Find a Friend” feature. Premium subscriptions are $39.95 for the first year, and $9.95 annually for years two through four.

The online directory will be continuously updated by the FMU Office of Alumni Affairs, while a new hardbound edition will be offered every five years.

“This directory will truly help the Office of Alumni Affairs to keep up with those who walked our campus as students and have now joined the workforce as successful graduates,” said Brandie Hayes, FMU’s director of alumni affairs. “Moreover, the online portion of the directory is new and really opens the door for our graduates to keep in touch with us and each other using the latest technological tools available via the Internet.”

For more information about the directory or to subscribe, contact Hayes at 843-661-1228 or bhayes@fmarion.edu.
