FLORENCE, S.C. – Seven Francis Marion University students have been named South Carolina Physics Scholars for the 2006-07 academic year.
S.C. Physics Scholars receive either a $1,000 or $5,000 award. The $1,000 scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen who had at least a 3.17 grade point average in high school and scored 940 or higher on the SAT. The $5,000 scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen who had at least a 3.5 grade point average in high school and scored 1270 or higher on the SAT.
Recipients may renew the scholarships for up to three years by maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
