Dramatic Performer to headline MLK Celebration at FMU Jan. 11
Take a front row seat in the McNair Auditorium at Francis Marion University as dramatic performer Edward L. Hill, Jr. takes the audience to the time prior to the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4, 1968.
From King’s modest beginnings in the “Sweet Auburn” community outside of Atlanta and his time in the Birmingham jail, to the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., and eventually his death, Hill brings to existence the life and times of King on January 11, as part of FMU’s Ninth Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.
Hill will chronicle the life of King through live music, a slide presentation, and a video, giving the audience insight into the movement and giving voice to the issues affecting society today.
