FLORENCE, S.C. – Following the opening weekend of the baseball season, Francis Marion University dropped three spots to 14th in the latest Collegiate Baseball Magazine NCAA Division II Top 30 poll, released on Monday.
The Patriots opened the 2006 campaign with two wins in three games, including the 800th all-time victory in the program’s 34-year history.
Francis Marion will return to action on Wednesday with a 2 p.m. contest at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, N.C.
Dating back to last season, the Patriots have appeared in 16 consecutive polls.
Four Peach Belt Conference squads are listed in this week’s poll.
Delta State University and Central Missouri State University share the top spot this week, while defending national champion Florida Southern College dropped from first to 11th after losing two of three games to open the year.
