FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University climbed seven positions to 17th in this week's Collegiate Baseball Magazine NCAA Division II Top 30 poll, released on Monday, as the Patriots prepare for a 13-game homestand.
The Patriots went 5-0 last week to improve to 19-8 overall and 6-3 in the Peach Belt Conference.
Francis Marion will play host to Wingate University (10-23) for a non-conference game, Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
The Patriots will then entertain second-ranked Georgia College & State University (24-4) for a three-game PBC series, Friday and Saturday. The two squads will play a single game on Friday at 7 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Dating back to last season, the Patriots have appeared in 23 consecutive national polls.

Sophomore right-hander Dusty Floyd, who owns a 3-0 mark with a 1.69 earned run average, is the Patriots’ probable starter for Wednesday.
The homestand will continue with contests against Newberry College (March 28), North Georgia College & State University (April 1-2), Claflin University (April 6), 18th-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University (April 8-9), and St. Andrews Presbyterian College (April 12).
