FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University women’s softball team will play host to its annual Patriot Invitational Tournament, Friday through Sunday (March 10-12) at the Freedom Florence Softball Complex.
The 33-team field includes three nationally ranked squads. Francis Marion will enter the tournament with a 9-5 record. All five losses have been to nationally ranked opponents.
Games will start at 4, 6, and 8 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m., 1, 3, 5, and 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Daily admission will be $5 for adults, $3 for youth (ages 6-12), and children under six will be admitted free.
On Friday, Francis Marion will play Newberry College (7-16-1) at 4 p.m. and Ashland University (5-3) at 8 p.m. On Saturday, the Patriots will meet Mars Hill College (9-11) at 1 p.m. and Gannon University (10-3) at 5 p.m., while on Sunday, FMU will play 11th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne College (15-3-1) at 11 a.m. and 13th-ranked Bloomsburg University (0-0) at 1 p.m.
