FLORENCE, S.C. – Francis Marion University junior forward Jonathan Bartomioli has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference men’s soccer “Player of the Week” for the week ending Sept. 10.
Bartomioli, a native of Bartlett, Ill., tallied two goals and two assists in a pair of FMU victories last week. He assisted on the match-winning goal in a 2-1 overtime win against local-rival Coker College on Sept. 8 and then recorded two goals and one assist in last Sunday’s 7-3 conference win over Georgia Southwestern State University.
For the season, Bartomioli leads the young FMU squad in scoring with three goals and three assists, and is seventh in the conference in total points and fourth in assists.
It is the second time in two seasons, Bartomioli has earned this weekly award.
The 3-2-0 Patriots will play at Wingate University (5-2-0), Wednesday (Sept. 13) at 7 p.m.
Bartomioli is a former All-Conference performer at Bartlett High School, where his coach was former FMU All-American Josef Schroeder.
