The Office of Public Affairs invites you to enter its university-wide photography competition, this year entitled "An Education to Enrich and Employ."
We're looking for images the illustrate the different aspects of student life at Francis Marion University. These images could show students, campus scenes, or people. We'll be looking for interesting, artistic work that depicts a variety of student life, from academics to spare time to organized student life events. Winners will be selected based on phot quality, creativity, and originality. This competition is open to ALL.
Submitted entries, whether selected for honors or not, may be used in the University's printed and online publications as part of the University's public relations and marketing efforts.
OVERALL WINNER: $250 | CATEGORY WINNERS: $100
HONORABLE MENTION PRESENTED IN A CONTEST EXHIBITION

Entries must be submitted by the end of the day MONDAY, Nov. 25, 2013.
Winners will be announced on MONDAY, Dec. 2, 2013 at NOON and
posted at the Office of Public Affairs, Room 101, SAB, and on Facebook.
Images must be high resolution and print quality (typically at least 300 dpi) and submitted as jpeg to be a valid entry. Each image file must have attached:
Entries must be your own work.
Photographer's first and last name
Affiliation to FMU (Student, Faculty, Staff, etc.)
Brief Description of the subject matter (3-5 sentences)
You are responsible for ensuring that anyone featured/identifiable in the photograph understands what the picture is for, that it may be used for the University's printed publications and website or external publications about the University, and that they consent to be featured. Consent forms can be obtained from the Office of Public Affairs.
We are not looking for a particular type of image or subject but for photographs that show or represent what student life is like here at FMU and that go beyond the type of photograph you'd see on postcards and in guidebooks.
Photos may be taken on any camera, including cell phone cameras, but please note that contest criteria include image quality.
There is no limit to the number of photgraphs that may be submitted, but each photo may only be entered once and must be identified as specified above and on the submission form.
