FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University men’s basketball team will play its final home game of the calendar year on Thursday (Nov. 29) when the Patriots entertain Morris College.
Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Smith University Center. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
The game will be broadcast on WWFN-FM 100.1 The Fan with Allen Smothers handling the play-by-play. The game will be the first of a package of seven regular-season dates to be carried on The Fan, while other games will be broadcast on the internet.
The Patriot men are 3-1 after suffering their first loss of the season last Saturday night against Newberry College.
Junior guard Houston Power leads four players averaging in double figures with a 12.5 points per game average. Junior 6-7 center Kevin Clark (11.8 ppg), junior forward Sam Smith (11.5 ppg, 5.3 rpg), and junior swingman Ziyadah Carter (10.5 ppg) are also scoring in double digits.
Francis Marion leads the all-time series with Morris 17-10, although the teams have met only once in the past 18 seasons, a 78-65 FMU win last year in Florence.
Both the FMU men and women’s squads will open Peach Belt Conference play on Saturday afternoon when they play at North Georgia College & State University.
