AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Led by Jessica Howard's 26 kills, Augusta State University swept by Francis Marion University in three games (30-21, 30-26, 30-27), Tuesday night (Oct. 23) in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Francis Marion drops to 11-19 overall and 2-5 in the PBC. ASU evens its overall record at 15-15, the most wins for the Jags since 2002 and the most wins under head coach Amber Glass. The Jags advance to 2-5 in the conference.
Senior Jackie Phiel and junior Jessica Lombardi led the Patriots with nine kills apiece, while digging up 12 and 16 balls respectively. Sophomore setter Jess O'Leary handed out 33 assists and freshman Karli Koralewski served three aces.
Howard compiled her season-high 25 kills with a .615 hitting percentage. Junior Amy Hunt followed Howard with a .286 hitting percentage, while senior Jessica Lowes and sophomore Rachel Dyer notched four service aces each and Lowes set 41 assists.
FMU will play at Lander University on Friday at 7 p.m., before traveling to USC Aiken on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest.
