FLORENCE, SC – Leadoff hitter Quentin Davis set the tone for Sunday's series finale as the senior center fielder collected four hits and score twice to lead Francis Marion University to an 11-4 victory over Alderson-Broaddus College, Sunday afternoon (Feb. 6) in college baseball action.
The Patriots (3-0) never trailed in the season-opening series against the Battlers (0-3).
Davis also drove in one run with a fourth-inning triple. His performance paced a 21-hit Patriot attack that saw seven players collect multiple hits.
Third baseman Omar Quiles went three-for-five, while left fielder Danny Mattonelli was two-for-four with a pair of runs batted in. Catcher Nick Richardson tallied a double, a triple, and one RBI.
Sophomore righty Brooks Sinquefield (1-0) was the beneficiary of the Patriot on-slaught. He allowed only one earned run on four hits in six innings.
