HICKORY, NC - Francis Marion University completed its portion of the Moretz Invitational Volleyball Tournament unbeaten with a pair of easy 3-0 victories on Saturday (Sept. 3).

The Patriots improved to 6-2 on the young season with a 30-15, 30-16, 30-26 win over Pfeiffer University and a 30-21, 30-23, 30-19 decision over Catawba College.

Senior Kelly Feber and junior Lezlie Logan both registered 11 kills in the opening win, while freshman Jessica Lombardi had 10 kills.  Sophomore setter Brittany Helgeson handed out 44 assists and served seven aces, while libero Jessica Strader had 14 digs.

Against Catawba, Feber had 13 kills and setter Melissa Hennessy dished out 38 assists.  Sophomore Jackie Phiel had 11 digs and five service aces, while Strader recorded 13 digs and three aces.

Francis Marion will play host to local-rival Coker College, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
