Lady Pacers Rally Past FMU in Four Games
FLORENCE, SC – Sophomore middle hitter Mandy Gerolstein pounded out 19 kills and recorded six blocks to lead USC Aiken to a come-from-behind 33-35, 30-22, 30-22, 30-22 victory over Francis Marion University, Tuesday evening (Oct. 4) in Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball action.

USCA moves to 3-2 in the PBC and 8-9 overall, while FMU drops to 15-8 overall and 3-2 in the Peach Belt.

Following Gerolstein, Veronica Seidle and Missy Deardorff had 14 and 13 kills respectively.  Seidle also registered a team-high 20 digs. Senior setter Rachel Dalitz tallied 52 assists, 11 digs, four service aces, and three block assists.  The Lady Pacers totaled 15 service aces.

Junior Lezlie Logan led the Patriots with 12 kills, while senior Kelly Feber had 11 kills, but Francis Marion managed to hit only .075 for the match. Junior libero Jessica Strader dug out a game-high 23 balls, while freshman setter Jenna Kaiser dished out 30 assists and had 10 digs in three games.

USCA rallied from deficits of 11-5 and 20-19 in game two.  Francis Marion opened game three by scoring seven straight points, but again the Lady Pacers rallied.

FMU will play host to a rare doubleheader on Saturday PBC foe Augusta State University at 1 p.m. and non-conference opponent St. Andrews Presbyterian College at 4 p.m.  USC Aiken travels to UNC Pembroke for a PBC match, Saturday at 3 p.m.
