Pembroke, N.C. – Junior Lezlie Logan recorded 19 kills to lead Francis Marion University to a 30-26, 25-30, 30-14, 30-21 victory over UNC Pembroke, Wednesday night (Oct. 26) in Peach Belt Conference volleyball action at the Jones Center.

With the win, FMU improves to 22-10 on the season and 6-2 in conference play, while UNCP falls to 9-17 and 2-6.  The 22 victories exceed the Patriots' win total of 2004 and equals the 10th-highest season total in team history.

After winning game won 30-26, Francis Marion dropped the second game 25-30 thanks to strong play from Pembroke.  The Patriots responded, however, and defeated the Braves 30-14 and 30-21 in games three and four, respectively, to earn the match victory.  FMU committed only three attack errors in the final two games.

FMU senior Kelly Feber contributed 12 kills, while Jackie Phiel added 10 kills and 12 digs to the Francis Marion cause.  Freshman setter Jenna Kaiser paced the offense with 51 assists, while Logan chipped in seven blocks to lead the defense.  Libero Jessica Strader had a team-high 15 digs.

Rachelle Milbank posted 13 kills for UNCP and senior Kelly Parker had 12.  Defensively, Alex Cogdill recorded 21 digs, while Alicia Hill dug 14 balls.

FMU travels to Lander University on Friday for a 7 p.m. conference match.
