Francis Marion Golfers Place Seventh at Troy Invitational
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Led by senior Adam Hart's one-under-par 215 score, Francis Marion University placed seventh at the second-annual Troy Invitational. 

Paced by individual medalist Daniel Willett, who finished the 54-hole event 13-under-par, Jacksonville State University captured the team title with an 855 score.  The University of Southern Mississippi was second (858), followed by Troy University Cardinal (864), Birmingham-Southern College (867), Eastern Kentucky University (868), Samford University (877), FMU (878), Tennessee Tech University (881), Jackson State University (885), Kennesaw State University (893), and Troy University Silver (920). 

The tournament was held at the par 72 Lagoon Park Golf Course.

Willett, the second-round leader at eight-under par, carded the best round of the final day, a five-under 67. He won by five strokes over Justin Elliott of Southern Miss and Jeffrey Krogsgard of Birmingham-Southern, who finished tied for second at eight-under 208.

Hart tied for 10th following rounds of 73, 71, and 71.  FMU senior Aengus McAllister tied for 12th at 216 (75-69-72), followed by Jacob Tveit tied for 40th (71-78-76=225), Luke Hart tied for 49th (76-72-81=229), and Andrew Pitcher tied for 53rd (79-73-79=231).

The tournament was the final event of the Patriots' fall schedule.
