PEMBROKE, N.C. – Sophomore Jessica Lombardi registered 13 kills and 12 digs to help lead Francis Marion University to a 30-21, 30-23, 30-25 win over UNC Pembroke, Wednesday night (Sept. 20) in Peach Belt Conference volleyball action.
The Patriots improve to 13-4 on the year and stay a perfect 3-0 in the Peach Belt, while UNCP drops to 5-10 and 1-2.
Setter Jenna Kaiser led the Patriots in assists with 35 and in digs with 23, while libero Jessica Strader dug out 22 balls. Sophomore Allison Good added 11 kills for FMU.
Abigail Parker tallied her fifth straight double-digit kill performance, recording 10 kills and 10 digs to pace the UNCP attack. Libero Andrea Laza tallied 28 digs, while Lexie Wood and Lacie Johnson combined for 28 assists, with Wood earning 15 and Johnson earning 13.
As a team the Braves hit for only a .104 hitting percentage, while the Patriots hit for a .209 average.
Francis Marion will play host to a pair of PBC matches this weekend, playing Augusta State on Friday at 7 p.m. and USC Aiken on Saturday at 3 p.m.
