AUGUSTA, GA – Senior Lezlie Logan registered a game-high 19 kills, while hitting .400, to lead Francis Marion University to a 30-20, 30-18, 30-28 Peach Belt Conference win over Augusta State University, Saturday afternoon (Oct. 7) in volleyball action at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
FMU rebounds from Friday’s loss at USC Aiken to improve to 18-6 overall and 6-2 in the PBC, while the Jaguars drop to 10-12 overall.
Logan, who on Friday night moved into third place on the PBC’s all-time kills list, now has 1,740 career kills. Against the Jaguars, sophomore setter Jenna Kaiser dished out 35 assists and libero Jessica Strader tallied a team-high 14 digs. Outside hitter Jessica Lombardi served four aces in one game to get the Patriots off to a good start. She finished the match with eight kills, four aces, and seven digs.
ASU senior outside hitter Sarah Lobstein had a double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs, while posting a hitting percentage of .387. Setter Brittany Hotz handed out 23 assists and defensive specialist Grace Hornsby tallied 16 digs.
Francis Marion will play host to Fayetteville State University, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
