GREENVILLE, S.C. – Freshman Christopher Couch carded a one-under-par 71 over the final 18 holes of the Furman Intercollegiate Tournament to lead Francis Marion University to a (301-292-297=890) 12th-place finish. Virginia Tech (297-286-290=873) won the tournament, holding a four-stroke advantage over second-place Elon University (287-299-291=877).
Elon’s Jason Judy turned in a 69 on the final day to win the individual crown by three strokes. Judy ended play at five-under-par 211 (71-71-69).
Couch (77-71-71=219) tied for 15th to lead all FMU finishers. Sophomore Andrew Pitcher (76-72-73=221) tied for 23rd, while Ronan O'Connor (74-73-78=225) and Jacob Tveit (74-76-75=225) both tied for 50th position, and Jonathan Lavin (80-85-81=246) was 108th.
The Patriots will return to action April 2-3 at the Wofford College Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C. Furman Intercollegiate Men's Golf Tournament
