MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State University made it two straight victories over Peach Belt Conference ranked opponents with a 6-3 victory over 19th-ranked Francis Marion University, Saturday morning (March 24) at Laker Courts.

FMU drops to 7-4 overall and 2-3 in the PBC, while Clayton State evens its overall record at 6-6, and the Lakers improve to 5-3 in the Peach Belt.

The Lakers won four of their six matches in singles and two of the three doubles matches to secure the victory.  In singles, Anna Redecsi knocked off the Patriots’ Sarka Vitkova 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1.  Only Magda Jezovicova at No. 3 and Jenny Ludwig at No.4 were able to claim singles victories for FMU. Both did so in straight sets.

Sarka Vitkova and Ludwig won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Francis Marion plays host to North Georgia College & State University on Thursday (March 29) at 3 p.m. on the Kassab Courts.
