AUGUSTA, GA. – Junior Sarka Vitkova led the 19th-ranked Francis Marion University women’s tennis team to a 5-2 victory over 35th-ranked Augusta State University, Saturday (April 21) at the 2007 Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
FMU (14-7) advanced to face 11th-ranked Georgia College & State University in the tournament’s fifth-place match later Saturday evening.
Vitkova teamed with Jenny Ludwig to win at No. 1 doubles 8-1, as the Patriots swept all three doubles matches. Vitkova then won in straight sets at No. 1 singles.
