FLORENCE, SC  – Junior Jessica Lombardi recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 18 kills and 12 digs, while senior Jackie Phiel tallied a season-high 30 digs, to lead Francis Marion University to a 30-26, 19-30, 30-24, 30-26 non-conference win over St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Tuesday evening (Sept. 25) in women’s volleyball action.

Sophomore Krissy Mordini added 14 kills and freshman Mallory Eggert registered a career-high 13 kills and five total blocks as FMU improved to 6-14.  Sophomore setter Jess O’Leary handed out 42 assists, while freshman Kelsie Deaton dug up 20 balls.

Phiel’s dig total was one shy of her career high and pushed past 1,500 digs for her career.

Senior Tara Lemieux paced St. Andrews (7-12) with 18 kills and 12 digs, while senior Lindsey Stansbury added 13 kills, 21 digs, and four service aces.  Sophomore setter Jaime Hayes dished out 47 assists and had 16 digs, while libero Erin Haugen dug up another 18 balls.

Francis Marion will play host to Armstrong Atlantic State University for a Peach Belt Conference match on Friday at 7 p.m., while the Knights return to Conference Carolinas action the same evening at Anderson University for a 6:30 p.m. match.
