FLORENCE, SC – Led by senior All-Conference middlehitter Mandy Gerolstein’s 16 kills and .452 hitting percentage, USC Aiken swept to a 30-19, 30-24, 30-28 win over Francis Marion University, Friday (Oct. 12) in Peach Belt Conference volleyball action.
USCA remains unbeaten in PBC play (4-0) and is now 17-3 following its 13th consecutive win. Francis Marion falls to 10-17 and 1-3.
Amana Timm added 10 kills and four service aces to the Lady Pacer attack, while setters Lauren Cedeno and Whitney Tabbert handed out 23 and 19 assists respectively. Senior libero Veronica Seidle dug up a game-high 19 balls.
Junior hitter Jessica Lombardi again paced FMU, this time with 15 kills, seven digs, and three blocks. Sophomore setter Jess O’Leary tallied 31 assists and four blocks, while freshman libero Karli Koralewski recorded 10 digs.
FMU stayed with USCA in games two and three: trailing 26-24 in the second game before the Lady Pacers scored four straight points and being tied at 28-28 in game three before a Gerolstein kill ended the match.
Francis Marion will play host to Lander University, Saturday at 3 p.m., while USCA travels up I-95 to face UNC Pembroke, Saturday at 5 p.m.
