Patriots to hold Baseball Alumni Weekend (Oct. 7-8)

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University baseball program will hold its sixth-annual “Baseball Alumni Weekend” with activities on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8.

The “Old Timers” will take part in a golf tournament on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Country Club of South Carolina, beginning at 1 p.m. That evening at 6 p.m., all former players are invited to a “pig picking” dinner at the home of former FMU baseball coach Gerald Griffin, located within the Country Club of South Carolina.

On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m., the Patriot Old Timers will play a game against the 2007 Francis Marion squad on Cormell Field at FMU. Admission is free.

Any former Patriot baseball player interested in participating in the weekend’s events can contact current head coach Art Inabinet (843-661-1242 / ainabinet@fmarion.edu) or just show up at the activities. The FMU staff is making an effort to reach all former players and invite them back for these festivities.
