FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University seniors Adam Hart, Luke Hart, and Aengus McAllister have been named to the 2006 Division I All-Independent Men’s Golf Team.
The Hart twins from Blythewood, S.C., were selected to the third team, while McAllister received honorable mention recognition.
Adam Hart paced the Patriots golfers this past season as he posted a 74.96 stroke average over 24 rounds of play. Luke Hart compiled a 75.04 stroke average during 27 rounds. Both recorded three top-10 finishes.
McAllister, a native of Malahide, Ireland, played 23 rounds and had a 75.22 stroke average.
The trio helped Francis Marion to a 67-63-5 record as the Patriots completed their first year of transitioning from NCAA Division II to Division I affiliation.
The Harts were both members of FMU’s 2003 Division II national championship squad.
Nic van Vuuren of Utah Valley State College was named the Division I Independent “Golfer of the Year.”
