FLORENCE, S.C. – The Francis Marion University golf team will play host to the 23rd-annual Raines Development Group Intercollegiate Tournament, Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 17-18), at the Country Club of South Carolina.
The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Play will begin on Monday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The CCSC course is a par 72 layout measured at 7,101 yards.
The tournament field includes FMU, Appalachian State University, Charleston Southern University, East Carolina University, Elon University, Furman University, Georgia College & State University, Presbyterian College, Samford University, USC Aiken, Troy University, Western Carolina University, Winthrop University, Wofford College, and defending tournament champion Jacksonville University.
The Patriot roster includes senior Jacob Tveit (Romelanda, Sweden); juniors Ronan O’Connor (Dublin, Ireland), Andrew Pitcher (Dublin, Ireland), Peter McGibney (Westport, CT), and Keith Crowley (Balincollig, Ireland), and sophomores Christopher Couch (Summerville, SC) and Jonathan Lavin (Askim, Sweden).
FMU placed 16th at last week’s season-opening Scenic City Invitational in Chattanooga, Tenn.
