May 8, 2008 - GREENWOOD - The No. 20 Francis Marion men's tennis team upset No. 16 Anderson, 5-4, Thursday afternoon in the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Region semifinals at Lander University's Joe Cabri Courts. 

April 30, 2008 - The Francis Marion University men’s and women’s tennis teams learned late on Wednesday (April 30) that they both have earned invitations to participate in the NCAA Division II Tournament, with the Patriot women set to serve as a first- and second-round tournament host. This marks the third straight trip for the FMU women, and the eighth in the past 14 years. The Patriot men missed out on last year’s tournament but will be participating for the 12th time in the past 14 seasons. 

April 18, 2008 - SAVANNAH, Ga. – Seven of the eight top-seeded teams at the 2008 Peach Belt Conference Tennis Championships after the first day of action on Friday at the AASU Tennis Complex in Savannah. Host Armstrong Atlantic State, the top seed in both brackets, did not drop a point in their first-round wins. 

April 19, 2008 - The ninth-ranked Francis Marion University women's tennis team rallied from a 4-3 deficit with wins in the final two singles matches to upset eighth-ranked and second-seeded Clayton State University 5-4, Saturday afternoon (April 19) at the 2008 Peach Belt Conference Tennis Tournament in Savannah, Ga. The 19th-ranked and fourth-seeded FMU men blanked eighth-seeded North Georgia College & State University 5-0 on Saturday. The third-seeded Patriots women improve to 20-1 and equal the school record for wins in a season set in 2006. FMU advances to the tournament title match for the first time ever and will face second-ranked and top-seeded Armstrong Atlantic State University (25-1), Sunday at 10 a.m. at the AASU Tennis Complex. 

April 13, 2008 - SAVANNAH, Ga. (April 12) – The second-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University women's tennis team clinched its fifth straight and 15th overall Peach Belt Conference title with an 8-1 win over ninth-ranked Francis Marion University on Saturday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex. 

March 30, 2008 - WINGATE, NC – Both the 10th-ranked and unbeaten Francis Marion University women’s tennis team and the 15th-ranked Patriot men’s squad blanked Wingate University by scores of 9-0 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon (March 29). 

March 28, 2008 - AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State Jaguars split with the Francis Marion Patriots Thursday, March 27, for Senior Day at the Newman Tennis Center. Senior netters Arthur Figueiro, Sergi Mullor and Laura Ferreira all competed in there last home game at ASU. 

March 23, 2008 - Dahlonega, GA – North Georgia College & State University fell 9-0 to the 10th-ranked and undefeated Francis Marion University women’s tennis team, and the 15th-ranked Patriots down the Saints 7-2 in men’s tennis Sunday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference action. 

March 23, 2008 - MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – With each match taking a 7-2 score, the Georgia College & State University tennis squads split with Francis Marion University today (March 22) at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. The No. 22 Bobcat men upset No. 15 FMU, while the No. 10 Patriot women topped No. 15 GCSU. 

March 25, 2008 - Francis Marion University senior Franklyn Emmanuel has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 3-10. 

March 11, 2008 - FLORENCE, SC - Both the 10th-ranked Francis Marion University women's tennis team and the 15th-ranked Patriot men's squad defeated Ferris State University, Monday afternoon (March 10) in non-conference action on the Kassab Courts. 

March 9, 2008 - FLORENCE, SC - Improving upon their best starts ever, both the 10th-ranked Francis Marion University women's tennis team and the 15th-ranked Patriot men's squad captured 9-0 non-conference wins over Kutztown University, Saturday morning (March 8) on the Kassab Courts. 

March 7, 2008 - FLORENCE, SC - The 15th-ranked Francis Marion University women's tennis team remained unbeaten with a 9-0 blanking of Tusculum College on Thursday afternoon, while the 25th-ranked Patriot men downed the 35th-ranked Tusculum men 7-2. 

March 2, 2008 - Columbus, GA - Francis Marion and Columbus State locked in pair of intense battles on Sunday at the Blackmon Tennis Complex. When it was all said and done the #25 Patriot men and the #15 Patriot women had taken a pair of 5-4 Peach Belt Conference wins over CSU. 

February 25, 2008 - FLORENCE, SC – The 15th-ranked Francis Marion University women’s tennis team remained unbeaten with a 7-2 win over USC Aiken, while the 25th-ranked FMU men’s squad suffered its first loss of 2008 falling to the 18th-ranked USCA men 5-4, Sunday afternoon (Feb. 24) in Peach Belt Conference action. 

February 24, 2008 - FLORENCE, SC – The 15ht-ranked Francis Marion University women’s tennis team and the 25th-ranked men’s squad both remained undefeated with Peach Belt Conference wins over Lander University on Saturday (Feb. 23). 

February 21, 2008 - FLORENCE, SC – The 25th-ranked Francis Marion University men’s tennis team beat an incoming rain storm and Pfeiffer University 6-0, Thursday afternoon (Feb. 21) in non-conference action. 

February 18, 2008 - MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The nationally ranked Francis Marion University tennis teams both remained unbeaten by sweeping matches from non-conference foe Mount Olive College on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 17). The 15th-ranked Patriot women blanked Mount Olive 6-0, while 25th-ranked FMU men beat the 40th-ranked Mount Olive men 7-2. 

February 10, 2008 - FLORENCE, SC – The Francis Marion University men’s and women’s tennis teams remained unbeaten with wins over Anderson University, Saturday afternoon (Feb. 9) on the Kassab Courts. 

February 29, 2008 - Francis Marion University seniors Franklyn Emmanuel and Sarka Vitkova have been named to their respective Peach Belt Conference preseason All-Conference men’s and women’s tennis teams. Emmanuel was one of seven players on the men’s squad, while Vitkova was one of six on the women’s team.
