#15 FMU women remain unbeaten, #25 Patriot men fall to #18 USCA
FLORENCE, SC – The 15th-ranked Francis Marion University women’s tennis team remained unbeaten with a 7-2 win over USC Aiken, while the 25th-ranked FMU men’s squad suffered its first loss of 2008 falling to the 18th-ranked USCA men 5-4, Sunday afternoon (Feb. 24) in Peach Belt Conference action.

 

Despite losing only their fourth and fifth games of the season, the Patriots women improved upon their best-ever start at 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the PBC.

 

The FMU men (6-1, 1-1) however failed in their attempt to equal their best-ever start, losing two of three doubles matches to USCA (4-3. 1-2) and then losing at No. 2, 4, and 5 singles.

 

Both FMU squads will return to action on Saturday at 11 a.m. when they play at PBC opponent Georgia Southwestern State University.  Both USCA squads will play at Anderson University on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
