FMU's Budler Earns PBC Weekly Honor
FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University junior David Budler has been named the Peach Belt Conference men's tennis Player of the Week, for the two-week period ending March 27.

Budler, a native of Border, South Africa, compiled a 6-0 record playing at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions and a 5-1 mark playing No. 1 and No. 2 doubles during the two-week period. He helped lead Francis Marion to a 6-0 record, including PBC victories over 12th-ranked USC Upstate and 27th-ranked Augusta State University.

He won all six of his singles matches in straight sets, including wins over the 10th and 12th ranked players in NCAA Division II.

For the season, Budler is 12-2 in singles competition, and ranked eighth nationally in doubles with a 12-2 mark.

In the most recent FILA/ITA Collegiate Tennis NCAA Division II Top 40 rankings released March 24, the 13-1 Patriots are ranked No. 8. FMU has won 12 straight matches.

Francis Marion plays host to Erskine College, Thursday afternoon (March 30).
