FLORENCE, S.C. – For the second time in a month, Francis Marion University senior middle hitter Lezlie Logan has been selected as the Peach Belt Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Week. This award is for the week ending Oct. 15. It is for the fourth time in her career she has garnered the PBC weekly award.
The Cleburne, Texas, native averaged 4.17 kills, 1.08 digs, 0.75 service aces, and 0.75 blocks per game last week, while compiling a .380 hitting percentage. She helped lead Francis Marion to three wins in four tries, with the lone loss being to 10th-ranked Florida Gulf Coast University.
Logan tallied 15 kills in the match against FGCU and in the process moved into second place on the PBC’s all-time list for kills with 1,790. She is 116 kills shy of the career mark.
For the season, Logan ranks second in the PBC in kills per game (3.84) and is sixth in hitting percentage (.276).
The Patriots are 21-7 and will play host to local PBC rival UNC Pembroke, Wednesday at 7 p.m. FMU is one game out of first place in the conference standings.
Logan previously won the PBC weekly award in Sept. 2004, Oct. 2005, and Sept. 2006. She is a former All-District performer at Cleburne High School.
