Description of Alcohol 101
March 30, 2004 -

Student adjudicated with a first-time alcohol violation at FMU may receive a sanction that requires them to participate in the Alcohol 101 Program. Alcohol 101 is a computer-based, multimedia program that allows students to attend a "virtual party." Students make decisions about alcohol use and receive educational information about the consequences of their decisions. As they work through the program, students are asked to complete a worksheet that documents the information they are receiving. Alcohol 101 helps college students examine their attitudes about drinking, explore the consequences of excessive drinking and learn techniques to maintain control and personal safety.

To schedule an appointment for Alcohol 101, please call the Office of Counseling and Testing at 673-9707. There is no charge for completing the program. Students should plan on spending at least one hour working through the multimedia exercises.
