Thanks in part to a generous gift by the Kassab Foundation, FMU offers undergraduate student fellowships during the Fall and Spring semesters. Student fellows are assigned to health care and other community sites that serve the residents of the rural Pee Dee region with the greatest need. Student fellows spend three to six hours per week at a site for an entire semester. Sites include community health centers, rural medical practices, free clinics, after school programs and assignment to the ARCH health screening team. Many of the students will receive academic credit for their work, as well as a stipend of up to $1,000, partially underwritten by the Kassab Foundation.
