Leadership FMU is a comprehensive leadership program designed to provide students at FMU with the skills and techniques that make a difference not only in their campus community, but within their local, state, and national community. Students who participate in Leadership FMU have their choice of three avenues to gain leadership knowledge:
- The Winning Edge Program
- Leadership Summit
- Leadership Focus Newsletter
Winning Edge Program (Download application here)
The Winning Edge Program is a seven-session program. Each student in the program agrees to meet once a month with other students in a classroom setting to learn the basic concepts of leadership, learn through case studies and engage with faculty, staff and community leaders. Graduates from the program have used their experiences in student government, honor societies and various student organizations on campus. Highlighted in the University's Patriot View as a "movers and shakers" program, Winning Edge program feel that their experiences have been beneficial as they pursue graduate school, embark on the job market or apply for other leadership opportunities on campus. If you have more that 24 completed credit hours and interested in expanding your portfolio, apply today!
Leadership Summit
The Leadership Summit is an annual conference for students who have a commitment to taking advantage of the resources available at FMU. Student participants will attend sessions designed to assist in acquiring the essential skills necessary to become an outstanding leader.
