Derrick Young serves as the Director of Campus Recreational Services.  Mr. Young received his BA degree from Francis Marion University and is a former FMU baseball and track and field athlete.  As the director, Mr. Young is responsible for the following areas:

• Management of the Intramural Sports program
• Supervision of the student employees for information desk and game officials
• Advisor to the Intramural Sports Advisory Committee
• Serves as a permanent member of the Student Judicial Board
• Works closely with the University Programming Board
• Serves as one of the emergency contacts for Smith University Center
  
• Works closely with the Director of University Center Services in the management of building
