The Campus Recreation program has a variety of programming options and open to all students, faculty, and staff. The Intramural Program provides an extensive competitive sports program designed to offer activities to meet the needs and desires of the majority of the students. Competitive sports range from basketball and flag football to table tennis and billiards.
The Smith University Center, in partnership with Campus Recreational Services, offers recreational and fitness activities for students, faculty, and staff as well as meeting space for groups and organizations which includes an indoor pool. The outdoor recreational, located near The Grille, pool is open during late spring, summer, and early fall when weather permits.

Derrick GeneralWelcome to the world of Intramural and Recreational sports. As an alum of Francis Marion University, I can tell you first hand, that student Intramural sports is an essential and self rewarding experience that is designed to provide opportunities for positive involvement.  Participation in intramural activities allows you to experience different cultural, social, and physical development during your years at FMU.

I encourage you to become actively involved in intramural sports. Your participation in theses activities can assist in your overall level of success by increasing your fitness, your ability to relieve stress while contributing to your overall well being.  Your confidence will build as you interact with others in a structured collegial environment.  Please visit our Intramural sports site for more information.
Should you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please feel free to call (843) 661-1186 or come by room 214 in the Smith University Center and ask for Derrick Young.
